Assistant Professor in the Applied Mathematics and Statistics Department at the State University of New York at Stony Brook from 1977 through 1982, spending 1980-82 as an NRC Postdoctoral Associate at the National Institute of Standards and Technology. At the University of North Carolina since 1982; visited at the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada in 1988-89. Held the Paul Ziff Term Professorship at the University of North Carolina for the period 1994-97, and was chair of the department from 1995-2000. |
